This year, on Saturday 11th May, Gabicce Mare as last year will have the honor to accomodate in our streets the 8th stage of the 96th Giro d’Italia. Media and experts think this will be probably one of the most suggestive Stage of the Tour and with more than 50 km of Time Trial it will give sure a motion to the race ranking. The first 2o km will take place in the fabulous scenery of Monte San Bartolo, parhaps the most particular and characteristic road section for every two wheels lovers: on one side stunning views over the Adriatic Sea, from the other wonderful panoramas of the sweet hill in the Hinterland of Emilia- Romagna and Marche
The entire route will cover 3,405 km and run from May 4 in Naples to a five-lap city finish May 26 in Brescia. The race will cover an average 162 km per day. Seven of the finishes will be mountain finishes, and with 88.9 km of time trials it should make this a very balanced race of varied terrain and riding skills. I hope to catch stage 16 and 17 on my global cycle, as I will be crossing Italy May 21 and 22 .. .after starting in Portugal en route to Turkey and India.
